It was a first for the Colorado Rapids in their 15th year in MLS – a win to open the season on the road. Overall, I was impressed with the effort of the club for the full 90 minutes. The Rapids pressured Chivas players whenever they received the ball and Chivas looked frustrated throughout the match.
Going into halftime, I figured the teams would split the points 0-0. It’s the first game of the season and offense generally lags behind defense at the outset. It showed as both teams were not well-timed on many opportunities.
