Thank you for stopping by. I continue to pray each day for my blogosphere friends. I am reading many of your posts through Google reader and this helps me stay on track with the amount of time I have to read posts.
I have had on-going frustration with wordpress.com such as the inability to plug-in useful java script from linkwithin or inlinks (just to name two).
I am aware that self-hosted wordpress is available. Way back in the early 2000s, I used to run my blog on self-hosted blog platforms with different names and URLs. Unfortunately, I almost lost all of my posts because I picked one that was too cheap / low quality. This lead me to choose wordpress.com.
Give my available time to write, I want to spend more time creating content and not fussing around with self-hosted wordpress; doing upgrades, tweaking bits of php code. I cannot afford the time.
I also have prayed for clarity on the things that God calls me to write about as his disciple. I have used scripture readings as the basis of the last 250 posts (or so). I have come to understand that my life must be based on the Word and I can write about my faith and my life in many and other interesting ways.
Finally, I felt like I my faithful readers and I were too much alike – we wrote posts about our faith and I love them and continue to find inspiration in them.
To me, it began to feel too much like I am preaching to the choir and I am moved by Matthew 28:19-20:
“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”
All of this being written today and 655 posts on this site, I want to accept a journey where other, non-Christians can come and learn about Jesus Christ. So I have decided to launch a new blog on blogger. They have fixed most of the annoying limitations (like ability to change the page width) and allow a lot of interesting widgets not allowed on wordpress.com. The interface is blessedly simple.
I need simple at this point in my life.
I am grateful to land an awesome URL and will be back soon to post it. Unlike cinhosa.wordpress.com – that was cobbled together over time – I am in the midst of planning and executing activities for this more comprehensive look at my life.
I will keep my wordpress.com account and all of hundreds of hours of work in posts so I can continue to leave comments and interact with the WP community. I’ll plug in some tools to make it easier for WP folks to keep track of my new blog if it is interest.
I want in particular to thank Mark Mathia (markmathia.com) who provided an example a few months ago as he re-branded his web site. This week, he launched a podcast. He continues to be one of the many inspirations in my writing life. Thank you, Mark!
And God bless you!

P.S. At mass tonight, I learned about the Foundation for Children in Need. Please consider a donation to help folks in India who are much less fortunate than many of us who are able to blog because our basic needs are met.

Seems that many are bolting from the WP fold. I did a few months ago. The transition has not been easy, and I have lost readership; but I have also gained new readers. I shifted practicalbibleteaching to the weebly.com platform. I have been quite happy with it and their setup. (Last night I did run into a minor problem that I will address with their more-than-helpful staff)
As for your goal of reaching out to a different readership, goforit! (However, I will be on the new blogger as soon as I am notified
)
You are probably more savvy than I, but you do know that you can create a “redirect” link for those who come looking for you?
Looking forward to following your progress and growth in the Lord.

Hey Cinhosa,
We must go where we feel God is calling us. I too am having difficulty with WP and have thought about doing the same, but for now, I feel I want to stay here. I have been complaining to them, to no avail. I do not like some of the many changes which have come about. You will be missed but let us know where we can come and read your wonderful post! God Bless, SR
Cinhosa – Thanks my friend for your kind words. I am glad that my great experiments are an encouragement. I love what you are doing as I believe you have something incredible to offer the lost and unreached. May God bless you in your obedience. I will continue to pray for you and your ministry and of course, come along for the ride!
There is something to be said for encouraging fellow believers in the Word. What is given to us personally may also be beneficial to others as well as the Lord directs them to our sites. This is to encourage you to see the value in “talking to the choir” and how it is a ministry and enhances the work of God. So while you are feeling prodded to move in another direction, and that is commendable, what is done here is also of great value. Thank you for your contributions to living a God filled life and now blessings on your move to bring this message to those who may not know of it.
Cinhosa,
Do you have new blog set up yet and what is the URL. Please give either on this blog or mine as I will want to follow it. God Bless, SR
SR – thanks for asking. I have the blog registered but I would like to do some planning on my tags, categories, etc. to make the site easier to use than this one.
Stay tuned. I will definitely post an announcement here and thank you for your support, as always!
My prayers for you and your family
